Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a system of manual medicine that uses gentle forces applied to the body’s joints and tissues to promote the healing of acute and chronic complaints of the neuromusculoskeletal system. A doctor of Chiropractic (DC) may employ various techniques to achieve their desired aims, including spinal and extremity manipulation, massage, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, traction, nutritional consultation, physiotherapy modalities (such as ultrasound, cold laser, microcurrent, interferrential therapy, etc.), hot/cold therapy, stretching, taping, and home-care activities for the patient. A core tenant of Chiropractic medicine is to balance the tone of the body’s tissues and align the joints of the spine so that a person may achieve optimal structural fitness.  Chiropractors at PNH use gentle adjusting, Nutrition, Energy Healing, and many other tools to help you achieve balance.
A Chiropractic Physician focuses primarily on treating the body’s joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons, although we also look at the sum of an individual to assess the entire picture. Some common conditions treated at PNH include: whiplash (from automobile accidents), headaches, torticollis, rib pain, thoracic outlet syndrome, shoulder pain, low back pain, herniated discs, fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, healthy weight loss, detoxification, and Gut issues.
An initial appointment with our DC involves a thorough medical history and appropriate physical examination. Laboratory work or imaging (such as x-rays) may be ordered and/or reviewed, and initial treatment implemented. Follow up appointments evaluate the patient’s progress and help refine treatments accordingly.
