FAQ

How much will my appointment cost?

This depends on several factors, including the complexity of your case, which modality (e.g. acupuncture, massage, etc.) you’re seeking, and the number of services used during your treatment. Appointment fees also depend on whether you’re a new or established patient and whether you have insurance benefits that you can apply to help cover the cost of your visit. If requested by you, our office manager can provide you with an estimate, with the understanding that fees may vary from the estimate based on the aforementioned criteria.  Please call the front desk at 503-445-7767 for more specific information.

What providers at your clinic accept my health insurance?

It depends – some providers take private insurance, some will bill out-of-network coverage, some only do motor vehicle accident (MVA) claims or worker’s compensation claims, and some do a combination. If you’re interested in seeing a particular provider, and are curious if they take your insurance, please call the front desk to inquire. We will also require that you check with your insurance carrier to make sure that the provider you wish to see is covered.

Can you tell me what my insurance benefits are?

Portland Natural Health staff does not check patient benefits or do insurance verification. It is the patient’s responsibility to check with their insurance carrier as to what their in-network or out-of-network benefits are. This includes checking whether a provider and/or service is covered under their plan, what their copay or coinsurance is, or what their deductible is.

I’m an established patient and my insurance has changed. What do I need to do?

Before coming into your next appointment, you will need to check to make sure the provider you’re seeing is covered by your new insurance and your new insurance benefits. Please bring a copy of your updated insurance card to your next appointment and let the receptionist know that your insurance has changed. If you do not do this, you may be liable for the full cost of the appointment at the time of service.

What types of conditions do you treat in the clinic?

It’s our belief that individuals should be treated as such, and not as conditions. We also recognize the importance in patients being able to identify with certain diagnoses in the course of seeking care.  Although this list will never be complete, here is short list of conditions we frequently work with:

  • Auto-Immune Disorders
  • Addiction Recovery Support
  • Detoxification Therapies
  • Cancer
  • Chronic Pain
  • Reduced Mobility
  • Depression & Anxiety
  • Pediatrics and Family Medicine
  • Sleep Issues
  • Life Transitions
  • Women’s Health & Fertility
  • Nutritional & Digestive Deficencies
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Allergies

Do you have a Medicinary?

Each practitioner at Portland Natural Health manages their own medicinary.  As a clinic we carry: supplements, eastern and western herbs, homeopathic & herbal tinctures, detoxification & nutrition resources, and neutraceuticals.  Please call the front desk at 503-445-7767 with any inquiries.

What do I need to bring to my new patient appointment?

For insurance patients, we require that you bring in a copy of your up-to-date insurance card.

For those seeking treatment for a motor vehicle accident (MVA) or worker’s compensation, please bring the following information:

  • Name of your insurance plan, phone number, and address
  • Claim representative’s name and phone number
  • Claim number
  • Your attorney’s name and phone number (if applicable)

What is your policy for late cancellations and missed appointments?

The clinic policy is at least 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Both late cancellations and missed appointments are subject to a fee. How much that fee is varies depending on your provider. If you would like information on a specific provider’s late cancellation fee, please contact to your provider or the front desk for further clarification.
